Mike asked: Recently my 500gb external hard drive fell onto the floor and now it is not working. Windows cannot detect it at all and it is making a loud clicking noise (I’m assuming that when it fell the head broke).
Is there any way at all to recover the files on it? Could I buy an identical hard drive and swap the disks around? There aren’t any places that fix hard drives in my area so I need to know how to recover the data myself. Thank you.

Random Questions Inc. asked: I know it’s expensive, that’s not my question, my question is how expensive? Can you give me the name of a company that can recover the data. The physical drive crashed, so I believe that the drive will have to be taken apart and re-constructed; however I don’t know of any companies that do that. How much would it cost, and where? Thanks

edie08 asked: I am sure a few of you windows users know the scenario. Windows crashes and has to be reinstalled. All your files from the old installation are gone. Where can I find a program that will recover these lost files?

Ashleigh asked: Computer A crashed, well the power supply burnt up or something (you could smell smoke). Put Computer A’s harddrive into computer B which works, CA’s harddrive shows up but if I click “My Document and Settings” Folder, it says access denied even though the computer was not password protected an it also says the file is empty. It shouldn’t be empty and it should open. Won’t even work if I go Adminstrator in SafeMode.
I did try using harddrive A has the master for computer B, but it just kept restarting.
